Even with the bad weather fed ex got it to me on time, amazing. I'n now in the process of educating it using the wifi at mikey ds. It's dsl wifi and is ok, but not super, and doesn't extend much beyond the shed it seems. I have to come inside to use it Sad The truck stop across the hyway comes in, but you have to pay for it. Anyway, for a laptop it seems fairly fast. Nice little lead box, it's kind of heavy. Fred

Yep, wireless internet at certain places, like Mickey D's. Also has a 56K modem that I haven't tried out yet. Been deleting factory software like aol and vonage and putting on the stuff I need. Even my camera card worked on it without software. I also got a bargain on a lexmark bed scanner/printer combo at walmart. I'm cooking with gas now. Haven't got much done to it due to no power for 10 days. Fred

Battery lasts about 1 1/2 hour surfing and takes an hour to recharge. Refuses to burn a cd unless it's plugged in. It's smart enough to tell me that. I didn't spring for the upgrade battery pack which will do better I'm sure. BTW McDonalds with wifi have ac plugs at some booths to plug them in. Fred

How many times can you get a refill on a small coffee before they give you funny looks?

Or you get so jittery ya can't type Smile

I think most of the hot spots around campus have wireless. I should grab a laptop from work when I go to lunch and surf.
