Philip sent me some really nice, detailed castings that I got to paint tonight. The detail is incredible. It took me several nights to come up with my own junk pile of similar size for the back of the junk truck, and this one looks better. I was able to paint it in an easy evening, plus paint and shingle the outhouse. I hope to share some details on how I painted these in the future.

Those are HO scale, Ken, but he does other scalse as well. And he does great STUMPS I've got a sampling of those to paint up, but probably can't get to it until November
The details on these are amazing. You can see all the wood grain on the outhouse, and the junk pile has the teeniest stuff clearly visible. Stuff I would have thought impossible to case. There is a tiny piece of square tubing umong the junk that is actually hollow, and a good 1/4" of the end of the coil of wire is free from the rest of te casting (you can move it around).

Glad you like them. You did a fine job painting that junk pile & the hanging stuff on the outhouse. You must be very steady handed. U use a optivison? I have this old Col. klink one eye visor that makes me dizzy Is that the 1st time for campbell roofing. I like that stuff alot!

Alumilite white, water thin, 90 second cure plus I pressure cast both the molds and the reproduction. No bubbles but you have to work quickly.

Are you talking dirty Philip?
They were really ez to paint with the right technique. Really. I'm no artist. I did not even use a small brush on most of it, some yes, but mostly used a 1/4" flat brush. I took lots of pics, and will howto it when I get back from PI in November. The basic method is like Jim's LPB painting method in the howto's, but use white paint for the dry brushing, then paint very thinned out pastels over the white, almos tlike a "wash" but a little thicker. The thin pastels show where the white paint is, and don't show where the black paint is, leaving "shadows". This is the same way I painted the motor bikes.

They will further benifit from a squirt of dullcoat. It was rainy, so I held off. Last pic shown is after the pastels were applied, before dabbing some rust (brown then a little orange) onto the barrel and some mud/dirt and highlighted edges on the tires (both tan). Last step was the only time I used the teeny weenie brush.
