she was moving right along! Wonder how fast she's going, looks like as fats as that other train. Thanks, that was sweeet!

I believe it shouldn't have been doing over 75mph, as that is it's current permitted speed. It was designed with a 90mph top speed, but in accordance with regulations for new locos has to perform an overspeed test of 110%, which is 99mph. I bet the crew may accidentally take it over 100mph....

Man, thats awesome. Wish I could ride on her!

I had to post the link to this photo, as it shows the incredible following the loco has attained:

Two weeks ago the platforms at Darlington and Kings Cross were so full you couldn't move....

"It" was named today by HRH Prince Charles at York Station, here's a video of it leaving York with the Royal Train in tow:

Just a quick update, yesterday the BBC "Top Gear" programme staged a race between London and Edinburgh with one of the presenters in a vintage Jaguar car, another on a motorbike and the third on the footplate of "Tornado". I'm not going to say who won, but the programme is to be shown in the UK in June and since they sell the series around the world, should be on TV in other countries.

There are quite a few videos on youtube if you search for "top gear" and "Tornado"
