Welcome Tony!!! Great photos... I really like the idea of that road descending to that intersection in town.

And a big welcome to all that I may have missed.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Feels real nice.
I have a website with more info and photos if you're interested. Nothing earth-shattering, but it's a start...
www.goingincirclez.com/STC/layout
The layout has more or less been "finished" since about 2007/2008. As far as "low budget" goes... I have enough of a train budget, but the house we moved to (since most of those pics were taken) will need an extensive basement redo before it makes any sense to invest in new RR benchwork, etc. So that's the holdup.
In the meantime, I'd like to get back into weathering and detailing cars again.
Thanks again for the welcome!

Well I was hoping to beat Tony in here because his puts mine to shame lol. But my name is Chris and I've been lurking here forever and finally decided to sign up. I know a few of you already from over at the Tyco forum (Ray, Tony, Shaygetz). But as my interest in things like weathering, re-motoring, and everything else grew I decided to get a little more active here also. I live just north of Pittsburgh PA, not far from the Bessemer & Lake Erie mainline. I love the railroad history of this area so likewise I'm a huge PRR and B&O fan.
I got my start years ago with the usual christmas layout. Then all that stuff went into a box for almost 15 years. 2-3 years ago a good friend of mine & his Dad pulled his large layout out of hiding and the 3 of us dove into trains all over again. Since I don't have my own layout yet he graciously lets my stuff live on his layout for now, which I've dubbed "The Rental Layout". A 20 year old layout with way to many tight curves, lots of brass track, pounded to death switches, and the whole thing was mounted directly to homasote so its warped now......yea running trains is a trip lol. Its not what I'd call scenic'd, but there are some decent areas where I can pose stuff for pictures. And it can run 4 trains at once so that's good eye candy when you want to relax. Hopefully in a year or two I'll start my own layout that is a tad more serious.
Anyways since everyone loves pictures!
To the left is my beloved Life-Like F7, my first engine from years ago. And to the right a gift my friend spent way to much on, a MTH K4. Pretty big gap in taste as you can see haha.
Shot of my RDC passing over my friend's E8 while various power waits on standby and a LPB contemplates a record dive into the river.
Our attempt at a staging yard (still under development) also know as "we needed more parking so we built this".
And my friend's Dad eccentric end of the layout. He's slightly color blind, so the color of green your seeing is correct lol. The GE running by is the newest looking thing on the roster, we mostly have steam and early diesels running around.
Sorry for the long intro, just happy to be here!

Welcome! We do our best to be civil to each other if now out right friendly and we don't care what scale you are doing, as long as you post pictures so we can see your work! We have some tinplaters here, plenty of scratch builders, some leaning more torwards the craftsman stuff...you name, we like to see it!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Been on a little hiatus as I tackle other projects and get caught up elsewhere, but more on that in other topics I suppose. Chris, it's nice to see you here too.
