I’ve been thinking about doing this since we have colder weather moving in on us…(for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, anyway! Wink Very Happy You folks "down under" are welcome too, of course! )

I’d like to issue a challenge to anyone interested…

“Build A Structure For Your Layout Or Diorama”

This is not a contest…no voting, or anything…I’d just like to give a little nudge to anyone thinking about building something to go on & do it (understand that I’m giving myself the nudge also! Rolling Eyes )
I thought we could make this easy…very little pressure…Let’s say from now, 10/22/06 thru 04/30/07...? That sould be lomg enough for even a slow poke like myself to get something accomplished…(Heck, Jim could probably build an N scale version of Baltimore in that amout of time! Laughing )
Other than that, anything goes…Any scale, size, etc…Scratchbuilt, kitbashed, out-of-the-box, whatever…
My only request is that you either install it on your layout, or at least construct some type of simple diorama, for the sake of a finished photo…
Everyone could start their own threads here in the Main Line forum to track their progress, & then we could maybe have a “gallery” thread at the end of the challenge to display everyone’s final photos…?

If this sounds do-able to anybody else, I’m throwing my hat in the ring!
Anybody with me?

Thanks Drew we all need a help to get motivated sometimes.

I am laid up for a while but have a few things to build.
So if I am mobile enough to get down stairs for me bits and bobs,
I should have a project going soon.

Sounds good. Jon was working on a challange, but then he got a job. LOL So unless his is ready we can do yours. I'm in anyway as I need some buildings for the guano mine. I think I'll do some more cardboard crap for it. Fred

Very Happy Great challange Drew. Yeah, I'll be there as I am always working on something. Doing a U.S. Ship Builders building now.
Thanks

I dunno, I think you need a 8MP SLR digital camera, $10,000 worth of photographic lighting, a retired photographer, and a custom painted backdrop. Anything else would be banned, including backgrounds from companies like the background warehouse. We need to keep us all on the same level you know. Laughing
