Thanks loads Jon....I was getting just setting up for a re-sizing session when you posted the link. Very Happy

BTW, the albums are a sweet touch around here guys. Question

EDIT: Here's my test shot with Irfanview. The actuator head on the left controls my switch panel which slides out of the table. Now, off I go to fill an album... Very Happy

Hullo Trainheads!

I'm John. Been posting here for about 1 1/2 years. They go by post count here so lots of BS got me promoted to Fireman. I found out about this wonderful forum of brotherly love through Ray M. He posted a link on the Tyco forum.

I do both N scale and 3 rail O gauge. Glad to see there's lots of N scalers posting here.

Hello all! Just found your site this evening -- well, it's evening where I am, anyway. Wink

My interests are HO-scale railroads and trolleys; specifically the NYC branch line known as the "Auburn Road" which ran from Syracuse's De Witt Yard to Rochester New York, and the Auburn & Syracuse Interurban Electric which ran from Auburn NY to Syracuse as well as through the city of Auburn. Era is the Golden Age, 1926 more specifically. Why? Because the trolley shut down forever in May, 1930 and I want to model both together. Auburn New York is where I was born and I have fond memories of the steam engines and the trolley's trackage, which wasn't covered over entirely until I was in my teens. And I have a lot of photos of the city and surrounding areas both from historical sources as well as family and my own that will enable me to build a layout that is moderately prototypical as well as accurate.

I am at the layout design stage, more specifically getting down to the limits of it. I've decided to model the Auburn Road from Auburn New York through Seneca Falls, NY and perhaps on to Waterloo and Geneva and end there. I'm not decided on a return loop or just hidden staging and turn the consists in a fiddle yard there. The trolley will be within Auburn with a bit out to a park that used to be there on Lake Owasco; nothing fancy, just a couple of car barns and a single-track in the middle of a couple of streets with stops and return loops some hidden behind the backdrop. Some will be out in the open because they were in the open on the prototype. I'm preparing a 14 by 18 foot room just for this -- well, okay, and for my miniatures gaming table as well Embarassed - and the layout will be around 3 of the walls with a short (6 foot present plan) peninsula.

Have some technical questions relating to overhead catenary construction, handlaying the trolley tracks and probably most difficult, a junction in a street between a switching lead for the NYC and the main trolley line.

So, that's my introduction and I look forward to a great deal of fun and railroad ideas and thoughts here! Hello, All!!

Welcome aboard Ike.
Sounds like a great plan and hope to see some of your progress as you build it.

Welcome home Ike. We have the best traction folks here that you could ask for. And don't be afraid to ask as this is what we are here for. It sounds as though you have a great plan in mind and as Ray says please post pictures. If you have a plan drawn out and need help with that we have folks that can help with that also.

Again, welcome aboard. We are proud to have you here.
Welcome to 2 Guyz

I like Ike. Welcome to the club. That traction nut, Chris, aka interurban, he runs the traction forum and he and others do some really great modeling there! Hope you enjoy your stay here.
