Really guyz, it's a no brainer. We bitch about the economy yet we buy offshore decoders. Train Control Systems manufactures their stuff in Blooming Glen Pa and it's excellent design and quality.

The prices are very competetive and the warranty is as good as it gets.

One year, no questions asked! You blow it up and these kind folks will send you a new or rebuilt unit.

Their lighting effects with LED's were ahead of the rest when I last checked and i think all of their stuff is Back EMF controlled now. The documentation is about the best around and they have a kick ass how to section with pictures.

They've also started to supply wire and components. (30-36 guage stranded)

Should you send in a conversion "how to" and they use it you'll get a free decoder.

I use them for all of my non sound applications.

I looked at their site for my 44 ton loco but did not find anything. Difficult to find specs on decoders there.

Ok, I sjust ent them an email and they did respond with a couple suggestions. When I tried their site a couple weeks ago it was difficult to find things. They emailed exact suggestions and they popped up very nicely. I could not do that when I first tried. How a site works sometimes determines who I will order from.

About SoundTraxx, made in USA. I have some paper work from them showing the machine that does much of the PC board assembly.

Thanks for the TCS link. I was not aware of them. Ihave always run SoundTraxx sound until now.

Rich

Soundtraxx produce all of their decoders in the Durango factory. I have no doubt that most of the compoents are offshore but at least they manufacture what they can at home.

Soundtraxx has alwasy been at the forefront of sound as well as motor control. Their motor control is as good as it gets.

You are correct Jeffrey. I received a confirmation today. I wasn't sure so i had emailed asking where everything was manufactured.

It looks as though they've loosened up their warranty as well. They now have the same warranty as TCS

When something works for the competition maybe it will work for them too and draw business away from TCS. That's called free enterprise

Maybe too little too late. TCS always treated me well even when they didn't have to. It all depends on the product offerings as well.
